!Technical Notes!
Here are some answers to common questions handled by our support staff, along with some
tips and tricks that we have found useful and presented here as questions.
Note: In these answers we will follow a few shorthand conventions for
describing user-interface procedures. Key combinations will be presented like this: Ctrl+Alt,
which means that you should press and hold down the Control key, and the Alt key at the
same time. Menu selections will be presented like this: File->Open, which
means that you should open the File menu, and then make the Open selection.
- How do I create an icon on my Windows 95/98/NT desktop for CISWIN?
- Where can I find the client list?
- Why can't I enter more clients?
- How may I backup the software?

 | Look under My Computer
Click on the "C" Drive
Click on the CISWIN folder
Find "CISWIN.exe"(C:\CISWIN\CISWIN.EXE)
You can right mouse click and holding the button down, drag the file to your desktop. You
will be provided a menu where you can select "Create shortcut here"...select
this and an icon with the name "CISWIN.exe" below it will appear. This will
launch your program. You can also right mouse click on this icon and rename it to anything
you wish. |

 | Get to the client list by choosing Edit Clients from the main work center or choosing
Lists and then Client from the main menu. |

 | The software is still being run as a demo. The demo mode allows up to 100 clients.
If you have already paid for a license then call us at the phone numbers listed
below and obtain your software key. This will enable the software to continue
working. If the software is not paid for than download the order form and fill it
out and mail it with a check. |
 | The yearly license may have expired. Please call the help desk and re-new the
license. |

 | Use any standard backup method like a tape drive, zip drive, CD-R etc. If you
don't have any backup hardware, then follow this procedure to at least have a second copy
on your hard drive. |
 | Back up CISWIN data files regularly.
While it is best to back up to another drive or some kind of removable media, if this
option is not available, follow the steps below to back up CISWIN files to a separate
folder on your hard drive. |
Open My Computer
Click on [C:]
Select: File>New>Folder
Enter "Backup" as the folder name
Highlight the CISWIN folder in the C: directory
Right-mouse click and select: Copy
Highlight the Backup folder
Right-mouse click and select: Paste
Double-click the Backup folder, view with details to see
that the files are there.
